First year of Globus Auth, by the numbers
February 13, 2017 | Mattias Lidman
Today we are happy to celebrate the 1-year birthday of Globus Auth, our authentication and authorization platform.
In the year since its launch, Globus Auth has supported over 52,000 users, including nearly 18,000 new users in the past year, using one of 300 identity providers (with over 1,800 more coming soon). Counting all linked identities the number rises to over 64,000 identities.
Globus Auth, as an access delegation platform, has been used to grant 60,000 consents in the past year to over 300 apps and services, out of which nearly 9,000 were for services other than Globus (including XSEDE, Compute Canada, RDA, NERSC, University of Michigan, and University of Exeter). It has also issued nearly 4.4 million access tokens.
This has been done while maintaining 100% uptime.
For the coming year we are excited to continue working with the community of developers and administrators wanting to make use of the Globus Auth platform. So head over to our registration page to register an app, check out our documentation and contact us with any questions you may have!
