The SDSC Summer Institute is a week-long workshop held at the University of California, San Diego that focuses on a broad spectrum of introductory-to-intermediate topics in High Performance Computing and Data Science. We are pleased to be invited to present an overview of Globus and demonstrate how the service may be used to manage research data. The presentation will include a review of common research data management use cases, a description of Globus functionality (including secure, reliable file transfer, simple data sharing for collaboration across institutions, and data publication/discovery), a live demonstration of the service, and a brief look at how common data management tasks may be automated using the Globus platform.
